How many of them promise to do monthly / weekly / daily submissions of your website to 100 000+ search engines and guarantee top 10 Google positions and millions of visitors each day?

 

The truth may shock you, but there aren’t more than 7 (seven! not 1 million) real search engines that actually have a consistent database. From these only 3 are used by the majority of people. What search engine do you use to search with? What search engines do the people you know use? Those are the ones that actually matter: the ones that you use, I use, and most of people do.

 

These 3 (Google - powering AOL and Netscape -, Yahoo - powering Altavista and Alltheweb - and MSN) have spiders that crawl the web, find and index web pages.

Site submitting is required only once to alert search engines of your website’s existence.  Submitting over and over again won’t help your revenues increase. It will only help you lose your money.

 

The “100 000+ search engines” are often FFA (Free-for-All) pages on spam sites. You really don't want your site listed on these sites- it's highly doubtful it will drive useful traffic (if any) or improve your link popularity. They are often feeding grounds for email harvesting bots. You will pay to have someone sell your email address!
